Does anyone out there feel like this Sci-Fi movie isn’t ending? Well, I am with you if you do. Every day seems a little longer and even more different in this new normal we are all experiencing. The challenges of watching people on the front lines, people losing much-needed income and work, increased responsibilities with children and parents, and the question of when is this going to end. It feels really heavy and hard to wrap our heads around all of this.
So, what can we do about it? One thing we can control is taking care of ourselves. The airlines say it the best, “Put on your own oxygen mask before assisting others.” This is so easily said and sometimes so hard to do. But, it is 100% true!
How can you practice a little self-care this week? Here are some ideas to get you thinking.
- Exercise for 5 minutes! Even if you don’t feel like it, if you start jogging for 5 minutes or any type of exercise, you will most likely want to continue. Try it!
- Wake up 30 minutes early to get some quiet time to journal or meditate.
- Make a super healthy meal with lots of vegetables.
- Get outside and be in nature.
