Our Belief

We believe well-being is the foundation for creating healthy and positive school communities and thriving learning environments.

With anxiety and depression rates on the rise at both the student and teacher level, as well as suicide and school violence incidents increasing in our country, the focus on children and educator well-being has never been more important.

Our research-based well-being program is designed to help administrators, faculty & staff, students, and parents learn the skills to flourish. This includes building emotional intelligence, fostering healthy relationships, increasing positivity, and developing resilience, just to name a few.

Research shows that practicing these skills leads to increased academic success and enjoyment as well as long-term life satisfaction.

We take a proactive approach to the physical and mental well-being of individuals in our schools. We focus on mental health promotion.


Our team brings together over 40 years working in schools as administrators and educators. This unique perspective provides our team with valuable insights into how to introduce and integrate a well-being-based curriculum into the culture of school communities to impact students’ success and life satisfaction as well as teacher and staff well-being.

Our training consists of engaging live workshops for faculty and staff, parents, and a well-being curriculum for students. We use skill builders to share throughout the school community, and an engaging online program with science-based action steps to make well-being an integral part of your educational experience.

The Science

We are grateful for Dr. Martin Seligman and his band of followers for changing how we look at psychology in the United States and creating the field of positive psychology in 1998. 

And, thank you to the multitude of researchers who are making great advancements in understanding the power of the human mind, and the most effective ways for people to flourish.

Dr. Martin Seligman and his partners have identified the main factors required for human beings to flourish:

V – Vitality

The International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) defines Positive psychology as the scientific study of what enables individuals and communities to thrive.


Positive Foundry’s program brings together research from the field of positive psychology, neuroscience, and behavior change into a science-backed program that improves well-being. We release the innate energy that remains untapped in individuals.

What we know:

  • The scientists call it Neuroplasticity. We think it is amazing. Through repetition and practice, we can build our brain just like a muscle by adopting new and more positive thinking. It’s like exercising – your brain has never been this healthy.

  • But, it is the practice part of what we teach that can be difficult. The specific tools and techniques to enable people to flourish are not complicated but it is hard work. And, the hard work pays off because the difference in the quality of your life, work and relationships is a game changer.

  • Where we are in our life is a result of our habits. To create positive and lasting change in our lives, we need to build new habits and building new habits requires commitment, practice, and time to change.

01 — School Environmental Assessment

We meet with you to learn about your needs and desires, to assess your current state of institutional well-being, and then design a program tailored to your school community.

We assess your well-being needs through an in-depth survey and 1:1 interviews to gather a baseline understanding of the culture, strengths, and areas that need attention and focus.

Our program is designed to impact your school community and we will work together to integrate the insights gained from the assessment with your goals and desired results.

02 — Well-being Consulting

We use the most up-to-date research and science behind human flourishing to help individuals live their best life.

We help individuals focus on their well-being, learn new skills to adopt new habits, and create a connected community. A connected community uses a common vocabulary, shared practices, and is committed to a vision of integrating well-being in all aspects of school life.

We know that professional development is inspiring and exciting in the moment, but often difficult to implement after the event. Through continued work with all school constituents (administration, faculty and staff, students, and parents), we help create practices around well-being that are unique to your school and will help make the program stick. It’s ongoing professional development, through regularly scheduled meetings which serve to inspire, energize, and ensure progress.

03 — Live Workshops

We believe students take their cues from faculty, staff and their peers.

We provide customized workshops for your school. We offer trainings for administrative teams, faculty, staff, students and parents. We also offer training for student leadership groups who can then continue encouraging these skills with students.

Learning the skills to flourish, like learning anything new, requires repetition and practice. We strongly encourage our clients to consider an integrated program to help people experience true change. It is great to learn something at a workshop and leave with a new habit; but it is amazing to learn how to implement several new habits and to be given the time and repetition to flourish! The Positive Foundry for Schools program is designed to do just that.

04— Online Training

We offer a series of micro video lessons with supplemental content, activities, and ways to practice.

The online program teaches all of our skills and enables program participants to dive deeper into learning how to flourish.

Building Strong Relationships

Helping individuals understand the importance of strong relationships to their personal well-being and how to strengthen relationships both at school and at home.

Character Strengths

One of the keys to flourishing is understanding and using our unique strengths. Using VIA Institute’s survey, we are able to help people understand their individual character strengths. 

Each individual has all 24 character strengths in different degrees (e.g. Kindness, Honesty, Fairness, Humor, Love of Learning, Bravery, etc.).

Psychologists identified the 24 words by studying cultures across the world and identifying the common language to describe what is “right” with us. This gives us an opportunity to think about what makes us strong and how we can make a difference in the world.
